"SMALL LARGE The entry level of the Honda CBR500R sports range is presented at Eicma 2018 deeply renewed in look , now more similar to the Sister Fireblade 1000. The engine remains within the limits imposed for the A2 license but earns torque and grit at the mid-range. The steering setting is more sporty thanks to the semi-handlebars located under the upper steering plate.
FULL ENGINE The soul of this small sport is the twin-cylinder 471 cc engine revised in timing, intake and exhaust, gaining character in the mid and low revs without losing the grit near the "red zone" of the tachometer characteristic of the previous model. The power remained unchanged at 48 hp to stay in the posts set by the law for motorcycles with driving license A2, the torque is 43 Nm . To give voice to the engine we find a new exhaust that, according to Honda technicians, will guarantee a more raucous and engaging sound.
AGGRESSIVE LINES The most visible new features of the new CBR500R are in the aesthetic and ergonomic sector. The lines of the new model become even more aggressive in the front and streamlined in the lateral view. The new front fairing houses the Full LED front lamp , also revised in a more gritty key, and the direction indicators (now LED) equipped with automatic flashing in the event of a panic stop. Behind it is placed the new digital LCD instrumentation now enriched with LED change indicator and with the indicator of the gear engaged.
SPORTS ERGONOMY The ergonomics that now exalt the sporty driving style are also profoundly redesigned: the handlebars are now positioned below the upper steering plate for a better feeling in the fold while the rider and passenger saddles have been slimmed down to give greater possibilities of movement in the saddle.
SUSPENSIONS AND BRAKES The cycle pattern is confirmed in its entirety: the tubular steel frame (35 mm diameter tubes) with diamond structure remained unchanged for 2019, valid speech, albeit partially, also for the suspension section consisting of a fork 41 mm telescopic adjustable spring preload, with 120 mm stroke, flanked by the new single-tube shock absorber (typical of larger segment sports bikes) replacing the double tube design of the previous model, with spring preload adjustment on 5 positions."
